Overview of Brazil Natal Weather and Natal climate

The Natal climate is tourist friendly for almost all time of the year. The coastal temperature is usually 21 degree Celsius and hence Natal Weather enables activities like diving, swimming, boating, surfing and fishing to be done with ease.

The Brazilian seasons include Summer (22 Dec - 21 March), Autumn (21 March - 23 June), Winter (23 June - 22 September), Spring (22 September – 21 December). Though there might be a variation of one day or so. The temperature during the day is higher. The country receives about 1000 to 2000 mm of rainfall per year. Some regions are torrid having rainfall up to 400 mm. Snow is rare in Brazil. Hence permanent snowfields are not found.

The natal climate has varied weather conditions in the regions of Amazon Basin, the Brazilian plateau, the coastlands within the tropics and the southern states are different with each region having different climatic conditions.

Amazon basin has a typical equatorial climate. The peak value of the rainfall is 2000 mm. Temperature in the southern region during night is very low and due to occasional friagem the temperature can fall below 10 degree Celsius making the climate quite chilly. The maximum daytime temperature is 38 degree Celsius. The Natal climate is highly humid which a cause of discomfort to the inhabitants.

Brazilian plateau is at a moderate altitude. The Brazil climate observed here is quite different. The average value of the rainfall observed is about 1500 mm. It rains between October and April. The northeastern region, including Natal climate, is comparatively dry. The rainfall here is irregular and hence drought conditions are observed.

North of Brazil, near equator it rains almost throughout the year in the area near the Amazon mouth. Rainfall is maximum in the months of December to May. During daytime, temperatures are not very high here. Frost occurs occasionally on the hills but not on the coast. The air in the southern state is warm. The duration of the day is around 8 to 9 hours. Frosts can be observed on the coasts in the southern states also, as the temperature here is low.

The pluviosity levels in the Natal Climate are 200 mm in the rainy season, making it a sunny city most of the year. Natal climate is mostly dry and comfortable. The nearby cities of Recife and  Fortaleza have slightly more rain,  400mm and 350mm respectively. Bolts and thunder occur rarely in the Natal climate. One more interesting fact is that, in Natal for almost everyday in the year the sun is above the head at noon. Thus Natal experiences a very hot climate. Sun shines on very brightly for about 82% of the year. The average temperature throughout the year is 28 degree Celsius. The Natal climate is influenced by clouds, which are formed into the Atlantic. These clouds then move towards the city.

The weather of many parts of the world is affected by the weather of El Nino alone. In majority of the basins the number of the tropical cyclones depends on the weather in El Nino. It has been observed that there is a close association between the El Nino weather and the drought conditions in places like Northeastern Australia, Southeastern Africa, Philippines, Northeast Brazil, so on and so forth.

North Brazil is near the equatorial line and has varied climatic conditions. Rainfall is least on the Plateau of Borborema and Chapada Diamantia. In the west, the states of Piaui and Maranhao are relatively torrid. Here the annual temperature is usually confined from 20 to 28 degree Celsius. Though a minimum temperature of about 1 degree Celsius has been recorded in the Plateau of Chapada Diamantia. Here the average minimum temperature ranges from anywhere between 12 to 16 degree Celsius.

The estimated average value of the North Brazil current is 86cm/s, whereas the maximum value is somewhere around 110cm/s. The climate in Brazil is not very hot as compared to the equatorial regions. Though it can get a bit too sunny in the summer. The villages in North Brazil are damp.

To sum it up, in Brazil, there are sunny days and starry nights, clear blue skies and intermittent clouds and rain to wet the parched earth, heat and cold being moderate life are livable and pleasant. The Natal Climate, however, is usually sunny and dry for most parts of the year.
